About the Writer

Janet Flora is an award-winning writer, whose short fiction and personal essays appear in many prestigious literary journals. She also writes feature stories, and columns for several monthly and weekly publications, and works as a writing instructor and coach in New York.
Janet Flora is the recipient of the Willow Review Award for her essay “The Goodbye Ceremony.” Other creative nonfiction has appeared the The Yalobusha Review, Forge, The Sanskrit Literary Arts Magazine and others.
The Hawai’i Pacific Review solicited her short fiction “It’s Not What You Think.” Other fiction has appeared in The New Orleans Review, The Portland Review, NDQ, The Hurricane Review, and other journals.
Her features include: lifestyle, health and beauty, review and profiles. She holds an MFA in writing from the New School, she teaches for Gotham Writers’ Workshop, and works privately as a consultant and writing coach. She lives in New York City. She is working on finishing her first novel.
